Jane AddamsDue to the huge amount of immigrants flooding into America there were many problems the immigrants faced, such as miscommunication. Jane Addams brought the concept of settlement houses to America from London. Her campaign started in 1888, Chicago. She put in all of this effort in order to help immigrants assimilate into American society and provide families with child care. (Lapsansky Werner Pg. 216)
